JUNE 2022
Boy! It got not warm but hot fast on May 14 at the Madera Speedway Vukovich Classic.
Despite the heat (our C5 had no air conditioning) it was a great day. The roar of the
engines, the squeal of the tires and holding your breath waiting for the impending sound
of the crash. As we made our laps around the track in our corvettes and as I passed the
race cars, I noticed that the Hard Tops had not changed much since building them in
the ‘70’s. There were 12 cars from Central Valley Corvettes and 8 cars from COF.
On May 21, the Progressive Dinner started with salad bar at the home of David and
Julie Sons that rivaled any salad bar we have ever been to. Pictures were taken upon
arrival by Julie’s daughter and were presented to each couple at our last stop. We
moved on to Gary and Pam Linsner’s home for a delicious Mediterranean meal.
Refreshing drinks made by their son Michael a professional skilled in food and drink
service came down from San Francisco to help out and ensure their success. Then it
was on to Lori Dukes for some scrumptious desserts and great music, a little dancing,
and a lot of fun. Thank you to our hosts and all the participates.
