The diamond has internal flawless clarity. Maximilian IV Joseph von Wittelsbach became the first King of Bavaria in 1806 and commissioned a royal crown that displayed the diamond. Until 1918, the jewel remained on top of the Bavarian crown. In 2008, London jeweller Laurence Gaff purchased the gemstone for $US23.4 million, which at the time was a record performance for a diamond at auction. Gaff wasn't to remain the owner for long, however. In June 2011, Graff is believed to have sold the diamond to the former emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa, for at least US$80 million. The House of Savoy was exiled following World War II, but was granted permission to return in 2002. Now the family is requesting the return of a jewellery collection valued at more than $US300 million, which sits inside a vault at the Bank of Italy in Rome. Tinder Swindler 4Victims of Shimon Hayut will recoup losses via the sale of a Stronger Together bracelet. Hayut changed his name to Simon Leviev and claimed to be the CEO of Leviev Diamonds. He defrauded women met on dating apps under his assumed identity. Three victims, Cecilie Fjellhoy, Pernilla Sjoholm, and Ayleen Charlotte, played a role in designing the gold and diamond bracelet. Andrew Kwong has made a name for himself as a diamond expert. 4Andrew Kwong, co-owner of Canadian business Christine <strong>Jeweller</strong>s, is the mastermind behind a social media phenomenon, which has amassed 3.2 million followers on TikTok. Kwong gained fame for videos featuring diamond testing, which he releases with the aim of educating the public on the differences between synthetic and authentic diamonds. “We do diamond testing for every customer that comes in to get their jewellery cleaned or resized, and it became something everyone was interested in watching,” Kwong told Richmond News. Campaign Watch 4Historic Italian luxury brand Bulgari has launched a new campaign starring actresses Anne Hathaway and Zendaya. A film titled Unexpected Wonders has been released as a part of the campaign. Directed by Paolo Sorrentino, famous for the 2013 film La Grande Bellezza, the brand campaign was filmed in Rome, the city where Bulgari was founded by Greek silversmith Sotirio Bulgari in the 1880s. 4Swarovski has appointed former McKinsey & Co executive Alexis Nasard as CEO. Nasard will be the first person to lead the company, who is not a descendant of founder Daniel Swarovski, in the company's 127-year history. Swarovski was founded in 1895 by Swarovski, Armand Kosmann, and Franz Weis. The company is headquartered in Austria and Nasard will begin in early <strong>July</strong>, taking over from Michele Molon.
