Cactus Fruit<br />

Harvesting: Choose very ripe fruit; very red, plump prickly pears<br />

are the best. Under ripe fruit is very sour. Rub with grass to remove<br />

the bristles. They can be eaten raw and are better if the skin is<br />

removed.<br />
