Welcome to the <strong>Aug</strong>ust <strong>2022</strong> edition of The <strong>Barlborough</strong>,<br />
Clowne & Renishaw Doorsteppa!<br />
At the time of writing this introduction, the Lionesses have just<br />
won the Euro’s!! Congratulations to everyone involved, and<br />
especially to local girls Millie Bright and Ellie Roebuck, who have<br />
done their communities proud. Hopefully there will be a local<br />
celebration planned and, as a father of three daughters, I’m<br />
personally chuffed at what an inspiration this will be to young<br />
girls!<br />
Talking about inspirational young women, this month we<br />
caught up with local girl Susannah Judge (see above), who is<br />
taking part in the ‘Ironman Challenge’. Susannah is raising<br />
money to take part in the World Scout Jamboree, and is going<br />
to swim 2.4miles, bike 112miles, and run over 25miles over a ten<br />
day period! As the young leader at the 6th Eckington Scout<br />
Group she will need all the help she can get. Check out the full<br />
story in our Community Section on page 22.<br />
