Terkos/Durusu ve Çevresi
Yürüyüşün ikinci durağı olan Terkos Gölü çevresi,
İstanbul’un tehlike altındaki ekolojik alanlarından
birisidir. Terkos Havzası, aynı zamanda, İstanbul’un
en eski su kaynaklarından birisidir. Bölge,
zengin bir bitki örtüsüne sahiptir. Bölgenin büyük
bir kısmı ormanlık alnlar ile kaplıdır ancak son dönemde
yatırımların ilgisinin buraya kaymasının
etkisi doğal alanların tahribine yol açmıştır.
Yürüyüş sırasında, beton santrali, tesisler, oteller
gibi yeni yapılmış olan yapılar görülmüştür. Alanda
bulunan bazı bitki türleri küresel ölçekte tehlike
altındadır. Bölge üzerindeki önemli tehtidlerden
birisi İSKİ’nin (İstanbul Su ve Kanalizasyon İdaresi)
şehre su getirmek için 1990 yılında başlatmış olduğu
projelerdir 1 . Proje yapım aşamasında ve sonrasında
havzanın su rejimine olumsuz etki etmiştir.
Ulaşım için açılan yollar da ormanlık alanların
tahribine neden olmuştur. Özellikle Kuzey Marmara
Otoyolu büyük bir tahribe neden olmuştur.
Terkos Gölü çevresindeki diğer bir tehdit ise buradaki
ikinci konut artışıdır. Terkos Gölü ve Durusu
Köyü arasındaki bağlantı, yapılan yollar ve göl
kenarındaki özel inşaatlar ile kopmuş durumdadır.
Köyün geçim kaynakları arasında olan balıkçılık
günümüzde devam edememektedir. Alanda sivil
toplum kuruluşları ve insiyatiflerin etkinliği insanlara
sorular sorduğumda “Çevreci misiniz? Onlar
da buraya gelip sorular soruyor, eylem yapıyor.”
cümleleri ile gözlemlenmiştir. Terkos bölgesi Kanal
İstanbul projesinin gerçekleşmesi durumunda
yok olacaktır. Köyde yatırımlardan memnun
olanlar kadar köy yok olacak diyenler de mevcuttur.
Köy içerisindeki emlakçıların camlarında “Kanal
İstanbul Üstü Arsa” ya da “Yatırım İçin Arsa”
gibi ilanları görmek mümkündür.

Terkos/Durusu and Its Surroundings
The area around Terkos Lake, the second stop
of the walk, is one of the endangered ecological
areas of Istanbul. Terkos Basin is also one of the
oldest water resources of Istanbul. The region
has rich vegetation. A large part of the region is
covered with forested areas, but the effect of the
recent investments in this area has led to the destruction
of natural areas.
During the walk, newly built structures such as
concrete plants, facilities and hotels were seen.
Some plant species found in the area are endangered
on a global scale. One of the important
threats to the region is the projects initiated by
İSKİ (Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration)
in 1990 to bring water to the city 1 . The project
had a negative impact on the water regime
of the basin during and after the construction
phase. The roads opened for transportation also
caused the destruction of forest areas. Especially
the Northern Marmara Highway has caused great
damage. Another threat around Terkos Lake is
the increase in second homes here. The connection
between Terkos Lake and Durusu Village has
been broken by the roads and private constructions
on the lakeside. Fishing, which is among the
livelihoods of the village, cannot continue today.
When I asked people about the effectiveness of
non-governmental organizations and initiatives in
the field, “Are you an environmentalist? They also
come here to ask questions and take action.” observed
with sentences. Terkos region will be destroyed
in case of realization of the Kanal Istanbul
project. There are those who say that the village
will disappear as well as those who are satisfied
with the investments in the village. It is possible
to see advertisements such as “Land on Kanal Istanbul”
or “Land for Investment” on the windows
of real estate agents in the village.
