County Officials Recognize
Koffa's Efforts In Grand Kru
The Ministry of Education in
Grand Kru County has
c o n g r a t u l a t e d D e p u t y
Speaker for the completion of
two elementary schools in
Chemgbetee, Dorboh and
Sasstown, Jroa Statutory
Districts respectively.
MoE-Grand Kru also hailed
the Grand Kru County District
2 Representative for the
ongoing construction of two
elementary schools in Buah
Taybue and Wropluken,
which are about 95% and
55% completion.
Speaking on behalf of the
county, the Grand Kru County
E d u c a t i o n O ff i c e r, M r.
N o t w a n e K a r m a i h o n
Tuesday, 12th April said
during the ongoing 13th
County Development Sitting,
that education helps to
a c h i e v e t h e p o l i t i c a l ,
economic, social, moral and
cultural aspirations and it
leads the county and the
country at large, toward
advancement as well as
f o s t e r s n a t i o n a l
development.
I n a d d i t i o n t o t h e t w o
completed and furnished
schools and the ongoing
erection of two schools, the
Deputy Speaker has broken
ground for the construction of
two schools in Kayken
Community, Barclayville,
valued at about US$75,000.
Meanwhile, the County
Health Officer, J. Woyee S.
Wreh, announced during the
County Sitting on Tuesday
that the Buah Jerboken Clinic
is set to open to the public on
Monday, May 2, 2022.
Making a report during the
13th County Development
Sitting in Barclayville, Dr.
Wreh, expressed thanks and
appreciation to Deputy
Speaker J. Fornati Koffa for
providing over US$11,000 for
the renovation and activation
and essential drugs and tools
for Buah Jerboken Clinic.
In furtherance, the CHO said
the Deputy Speaker has
c o m m i t t e d t o p r o v i d e
monthly stipends for two
clinicians and four nonclinicians
for the operations
of the Buah Jerboken Clinic.
The Buah Jerboken Clinic
was dedicated by Cllr. Koffa
on Tuesday, and it may be
recalled that the Buah
J e r b o k e n C l i n i c w a s
constructed by Senator Dr.
Speaker J. Fornati Koffa
Peter Coleman but has not
been put into use and
resulted into disrepair over
the years.
The opening of the clinic is
part of efforts by the Deputy
Speaker to build a more
resilient health system in the
county by the Grand Kru
C o u n t y D i s t r i c t 2
Representative.
The Buah Jerboken Clinic
intends to provide medical
assistance to anyone who
needs it, and treatments are
expected to be comparatively
l e s s e x p e n s i v e t h a n
conventional health centers.
However for the past weeks,
the Deputy Speaker has
s n a g g e d " m u l t i p l e
endorsements" for reelection
from over 43 communities in
District 2, Grand Kru County.
Journalist Launches Empowerment Program In District 13
Thousands of unskilled and
vulnerable youths in District
13 Montserrado County now
have hope of empowerment
unlike before and that is
because of the launch of a
s k i l l t r a i n i n g a n d
empowerment program
under the auspices of
Friends of Success Minor.
T h e p r o g r a m , m o r e
e m p o w e r m e n t a n d
e d u c a t i o n - d r i v e n t h a n
political, was launched in
one of the densely populated
and less fortunate Bassa
To w n C o m m u n i t i e s i n
Jamaica Road on May 21,
2022.
As implementing partner of
the project, Vision Liberia,
the Dream bearer and
aspirant Success Minor of
District 13 Montserrado
County saw the need to give
back to his people especially
through skills training and
empowerment initiatives.
Over the next few months,
the over eight hundred
beneficiaries, many of whom
are women and girls will
acquire the requisite skills in
s o a p m a k i n g , i n t e r i o r
d e c o r a t i o n , t a i l o r i n g ,
cosmetology, bath soap
p r o d u c t i o n a s w e l l a s
slippers with beans making
among others.
Others are Dettol and choral
productions including liquid
and sweet smell soap
production and many others.
According to the director of
Vision Liberia and a key
implementing partner to the
program, Harrison Dorbor,
Mr. Minor has fully showered
the financial responsibilities
of the entire program, and
as such he encouraged the
potential beneficiaries to
take advantage of the
program.
“At the end of this program
and with the skills you are
expected to receive, you will
never be a liability again but
will be a bread winner and a
supporter of your homes,”
he assured the public.
The Vision Liberia program
has over the period trained
over one thousand young
p e o p l e w h o a r e n o w
marketable to society
a d d i n g t h a t i f t h e
b e n e f i c i a r i e s m a k e
m a x i m u m u s e o f t h e
opportunity afforded them
by Success by investing in
them through skills training,
t h e y w i l l i m m e n s e l y
contribute to the larger
society.
D e l i v e r i n g a s p e c i a l
statement as program
director of the Friends of
Success , Fayiah S. Tamba
disclosed that the program
is part of one of the pillars of
FOS which is capacity
building and empowerment
of the people something , he
noted is at the center of the
vision bearer of the political
group, Mr. Minor.
“It is about time to elevate
and reawaken the potential
of District 13 youths in order
to help emancipate the lives
of residents of the district,”
Mr. Fayiah added.
He said at the end of the
program beneficiaries will
learn how to start a small
and medium enterprise at
their respective areas.

his peers, the young people
of the district by putting
s m i l e s o n t h e i r f a c e s
through skills training and
empowerment initiatives.
He believes among other
things, inclusiveness,
capacity building, youth
e m p o w e r m e n t a n d
p r o m i s e d t h a t h i s
representation at the level of
t h e H o u s e o f
Representatives will bring
renewed hope to the people
and a turning point for them.
