BICSc MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS BY STAN ATKINS FBICSc STAN ATKINS Group Chief Executive Officer I think we have all heard the expression “what did the Romans ever do for us”, and when you start to analyse the benefits of the Roman invasion of Britain, generally they were plusses. One system of government, straight roads, central heating and Roman baths. Unfortunately, as with all memberships, we do not analyse the benefits often enough, and sometimes they are miscommunicated. For both Corporate and Individual Members you belong to an Institute that promotes: • Membership • Cleaning standards • Training and assessment to these standards You are part of the largest independent, professional and educational body within the cleaning industry with 50,000+ members. THE STANDARD For individuals, membership represents the start of a career path with qualifications in the cleaning industry. We are part of a community who through BICSc Council, support one another, both professionally and individually. Through prudent and diligent management, individual fees have not been increased for nearly five years and you can access your member benefits via our website at www.bics.org.uk As far as Corporate Members are concerned, your subscriptions help support the development of new training and standards. You are part of an internationally recognised Institute and Corporate Members play an important part, through Council, of the governance of the Institute. The one exceptional benefit that Corporate Members have, is the ‘YOSHKI click to verify platform’. If your organisation uses the logo supplied when you join or renew on your company’s website, any visitor who clicks on this will be taken to the YOSHKI verification page, which validates that you are a paid-up member of the Institute. Although this is vitally important, only a small percentage of members use this facility. The number of spurious logos and people who claim to be Corporate Members are increasing yearly, so by using our correct logo/ branding, you are protecting your investment. You are part of the largest independent, professional & educational body within the cleaning industry with 50,000+ members.
