GreenLight Fund Golf 2022 Program

We are excited to welcome you back to Weston Golf Club for GreenLight’s Annual Golf for Good!
We celebrate a significant milestone this year as our
portfolio organizations are reaching nearly 500,000
children, youth, and families annually! The solutions that our
portfolio organizations provide, offer profound life-altering
experiences for families and communities of color. None of
this is possible without you – friends, allies, and champions,
thank you!
During the past year, GreenLight Boston has once again
worked to identify our community’s most pressing needs, find
the best solutions our country has to offer, and cultivate their
growth in our community. We met with countless community
members and leaders to gain a deeper understanding of the
reality for too many of our Boston neighbors, and one thing
remained clear; our work is far from over.
As a result of the pandemic, many families, especially those
with young children, are experiencing worsening mental
health challenges. Despite this critical need for support,
Boston families now face a new challenge in accessing
quality care and early intervention services. Between 2020-
2021, 40% fewer eligible children received early intervention
services, and those who did receive services received fewer
hours per month, dropping from 22 hours to five.
This is a critical time for our community, as early trauma and adversity lead to biological
changes in a young child, leading to long-term problems in mental health, learning, and
physical health. This is why we are proud to announce the newest addition to the
GreenLight Fund portfolio, Child First!
Child First’s proven model is nationally recognized for helping heal and protect young
children and families from the effects of chronic stress and trauma. They provide inhome,
two-generational services that foster strong, nurturing relationships between
child and caregiver and connect families with much-needed services. Child First was
founded in Connecticut, and has scaled its programs to North Carolina, Florida, and
Colorado — and now Boston!
We invite you to celebrate Child First as they grow and serve our city’s young people.
And as we embark on a new selection process for the upcoming year, we invite you
to join us as we innovate and respond to the needs of our community, working in
partnership to identify organizations that tear down barriers and open up pathways to
economic prosperity.
