BREAK COZY

Who doesn’t like to drink a hot cup of Covfefe?
And who doesn’t need a nice cozy for your mug
of Covfefe? This coffee cup cozy comes with
instructions for DK, worsted and bulky weight yarn.
MATERIALS:
• For DK, size 4.5 mm needles.
• For worsted, size 5 mm needles.
• For bulky, size 5.5 mm needles.
• ¾ “ or 1” button
• Tapestry needle for weaving ends
• Tapestry or sewing needle for sewing the button
• Extra yarn, thread or floss for sewing the button
DK Pattern
Cast on 14 stitches.
Knit each row until the cozy measures approximately
9”.
Knit 7 stitches. Bind off 2 stitches. Knit to end of row.
You will have 6 stitches on either side of the button
hole.
Knit 6 stitches. Cast on 2 stitches. Knit to end of row.
Knit 6 more rows.
Bind off.
Worsted Pattern
Cast on 12 stitches.
Knit each row until the cozy measures approximately
9”.
Knit 6 stitches. Bind off 2 stitches. Knit to end of row.
You will have 5 stitches on either side of the button
hole.
Knit 5 stitches. Cast on 2 stitches. Knit to end of row.
Knit 5 more rows.
Bind off.
Bulky Pattern
Cast on 10 stitches.
Knit each row until the cozy measures approx. 9”.
Knit 5 stitches. Bind off 2 stitches. Knit to end of row.
You will have 4 stitches on either side of the button
hole.
Knit 4 stitches. Cast on 2 stitches. Knit to end of row.
Knit 4 more rows.
Bind off.
FINISHING
Weave in ends with a tapestry needle. Block the cozy.
(Or don’t if you don’t like blocking!). Sew button to the
right side of the cozy on the opposite end from the
buttonhole. Make sure you line up the button to the
buttonhole. Enjoy a nice cup of Covfefe!
