New Brunswick<br />

Toronto, Halifax and St. Johns<br />

Enjoy Cosmopolitan Toronto along with St.Johns Newfoundland. St<br />

John’s is the perfect combination of big-city luxury and traditional<br />

small-town charm. It is the oldest and most easterly city in <strong>North</strong><br />

<strong>America</strong>, and has become a rare destination full of character and<br />

charisma, with a contemporary, sophisticated edge. Pass the<br />

colourful jellybean row houses wedged together, lining the sides of<br />

steep hills and hidden alleyways.<br />

Visit Quidi Vidi, the charming village-within-a-city, which embodies<br />

the spirit of an old fishing outport. Hike up nearby Signal Hill<br />

through the Battery, where tiny colourful wooden homes cling<br />

valiantly to cliff -sides ravaged by ocean waves. The hill is home to<br />

the unmistakable, iconic Cabot Tower, a castle-like structure built to<br />

commemorate the 400th anniversary of John Cabot’s discovery of<br />

Newfoundland. It was here that Marconi famously received the first<br />

transatlantic wireless message in 1901.<br />

Stretching from the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 –<br />

the gateway into Canada for over one million immigrants – to<br />

Casino Nova Scotia, you’ll pass unique shops, restaurants, and in the<br />

warmer months, graceful tall ships. Take the ferry across the<br />

harbour to the Dartmouth side which is filled with more locallyowned<br />

cafes, restaurants, and bars. Considered one of the greatest<br />

marine disasters in recorded history, the story of the Titanic begins<br />

in Southampton on April 10, 1912, when the vessel left on her maiden<br />

voyage. For some of those who lost their lives aboard the ill-fated<br />

ship, Halifax is where the story ended.<br />
