Wyncote Bridge Fund, continued
member of Wyncote’s maintenance staff. Of his first
impression of Wyncote, Joe says, “It was just the right size.
Everyone seems like family.”
Aunt Kay passed away Nov. 29, 2006, at the age of 94. In
gratitude for their aunt’s care, the cousins made a gift to
the Bridge Fund in her memory so others in need could
have the same experience. When asked, they also suggested
others might designate memorial gifts to Wyncote
Church Home in her name. Phil added, “The Bridge Fund
made it possible for Aunt Kay to be here when she could
no longer live alone. It was such a blessing.”
Since 1976, contributions to the Bridge Fund have
enabled Wyncote to honor its commitment of care, especially
to residents who have no means or have outlived
their funds.
Although Aunt Kay is gone, the three cousins still
meet regularly, a tradition that started at Wyncote
Church Home. Aunt Kay helped create family among
them, a quality they continue to honor. ■
