THE VENUE
Formerly of both Blooming Colors and
The Crepe Myrtle Cafe, King Braswell is a
local fixture in the field of Horticulture.
And it is exactly this catalog of knowledge
coupled with his design talents
that have combined to create a new horticultural
destination, known simply as:
Botanic. Pair his accolades alongside the
formidable talents of his wife and now
business partner, Stacy and the result is
nothing short of spectacular.
While still situated squarely in the
heart of Opelika, Ala., the venue nonetheless
boasts a completely unique look
and feel. One not confined to city limits
or location.
Which was the couple’s stated goal,
from the very start. The duo envisioned
the creation of a “Beautiful Botanical
Haven” while also incorporating sustainable
practices in the process. The project
commenced in 2019, with the shared goal
of combining their mutual passions into
the creation of something truly magical.
The duo has certainly succeeded in creating
just that. Botanic is a lovely oasis,
already embraced and adored by the
community surrounding it.

THE LOOK
When it comes to selecting a classic
gown with a custom touch, Build-A-Bride
has quickly become a go-to resource for
discerning brides.
Led by Auburn owner Marlye
Armstrong Lee, the boutique offers a
personal touch, coupled with a local
feel. As she explains, “Our gowns begin
clean and sleek but are transformed into
a work of art.”
Lee goes on to expound upon the
subtle differences in both looks featured
here, saying, “The Charlotte Kate," was
named so by Designer, Heidi Elnora.
When ask to describe it, Lee says that the
