Its climate is classified as a hot semi-arid climate, which means

that it has mild winters and hot summers. The city receives

slightly more than 300 mm in precipitation per year, and the

wettest season is the mid-late autumn, which prevents it from

being classified as Mediterranean.

Benidorm is blessed with more than 2,800 hours of sunshine

per year, making it an ideal destination for sun worshippers. The

average annual temperature is around 18.5 °C (65.3 °F), which

makes it a comfortable destination for tourists all year round.

During the winter months, the typical maximum temperatures

average around 17 °C (63 °F), while the typical lows average

around 8 °C (46 °F). The temperature oscillation is small, being

even smaller during summers.

During the summer months, the maximum temperatures

normally range from 28 to 32 °C, while the lows range from 20

to 24 °C. In almost all of the summer months, the average city

minimum temperatures at night remain above 20 °C (68 °F), a

phenomenon referred to as tropical night. This makes the summer

months in Benidorm hot and humid, with little relief from

the heat during the night.
