Authors and compilers of “Be<br />

a Sport - Play <strong>Rugby</strong> – a guide<br />

to rugby in the North Midlands<br />

Area” can be justifiably proud of<br />

their achievement in producing<br />

a booklet that is a must buy for<br />

all fans of the game. It is a fitting<br />

tribute to the development of the<br />

sport in the North Midlands Area<br />

that currently consists of a total<br />

of ten clubs. that encompasses an<br />

area that stretches from Kilcock<br />

to Athy and from Blessington to<br />

Portarlington.<br />

The eighty-page booklet was officially<br />

launched in the Silken Thomas, Kildare,<br />

by IRFU Past President Des Kavanagh and<br />

Irish international Philip Lawlor (<strong>Leinster</strong><br />

<strong>Rugby</strong> Development Manager). They<br />

congratulated authors Kevin Greene<br />

(Secretary and Press Officer of the<br />

North Midlands Area) and John Walsh<br />

(President <strong>Leinster</strong> <strong>Rugby</strong> 2020/22)<br />

on a publication that has succeeded in<br />

promoting all aspects of game in the<br />

North Midlands Area from Mini <strong>Rugby</strong> to<br />

the Irish international rugby stage that so<br />

many players from the Area have graced.<br />

“The response to the magazine has been<br />

positive and most rewarding for the<br />

effort that Kevin and I have put into the<br />

project. We have copies already making<br />

their way to Australia, New Zealand,<br />

Boston, Kentucky, Wales and England to
