Authors and compilers of “Be
a Sport - Play Rugby – a guide
to rugby in the North Midlands
Area” can be justifiably proud of
their achievement in producing
a booklet that is a must buy for
all fans of the game. It is a fitting
tribute to the development of the
sport in the North Midlands Area
that currently consists of a total
of ten clubs. that encompasses an
area that stretches from Kilcock
to Athy and from Blessington to
Portarlington.
The eighty-page booklet was officially
launched in the Silken Thomas, Kildare,
by IRFU Past President Des Kavanagh and
Irish international Philip Lawlor (Leinster
Rugby Development Manager). They
congratulated authors Kevin Greene
(Secretary and Press Officer of the
North Midlands Area) and John Walsh
(President Leinster Rugby 2020/22)
on a publication that has succeeded in
promoting all aspects of game in the
North Midlands Area from Mini Rugby to
the Irish international rugby stage that so
many players from the Area have graced.
