RESPONSIBILITIES
VISION AND LEADERSHIP
• Functions as a visionary guide in the direction of all Josiah White’s programs.
• Works with the Board of Directors to adapt to the changing needs of the agency.
• Serves as the spiritual leader for the staff of Josiah White’s and demonstrates his/her commitment
to living a personal lifestyle that is consistent with the Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct as
an example to all staff.
• Ensures there is a comprehensive plan to recruit, support, and develop mission-driven staff in all
positions.
• Ensures that Josiah White’s has strong, measurable organizational health so as to attract and retain
staff through such things as communication, recognition, and employee celebration strategies.
• Leads the strategic and budget planning processes with the Executive Leadership Team and Board of
Directors.
• Develops clear goals and metrics to monitor the agency’s
success in carrying out the strategic plan.
• Provides information and recommendations
to the Board for setting or revising the goals
and objectives, operating policies, and
strategic plans.
• Develops the Board of Directors
through implementation of the
board development plan; manages
and energizes board task forces
and possible future committees.
• Assesses the evolving needs of
the environment for new areas
of development; understands,
translates, and transmits those
into the organization that should
be part of the strategic direction.
• Provides proactive leadership as a
driving force in the fulfillment of
the mission, vision, and core values
of the agency.
• Establishes good working relationships
and collaborative arrangements with
community groups, donors, elected officials,
and other organizations to help achieve the
goals of the organization.
