“Preparing Christian Leaders
to be World Changers”
Dear Prospective Head of School Candidate,
On behalf of the The Naz, Grove City Christian School and Child Care (GCCS/GCCC) family,
thank you for your interest in the Head of School position. Over 30 years ago, a group of leaders
at Grove City Church of the Nazarene (The Naz) were called to start a Christian school to
serve families in our community. Decades later, it is our belief we are living out the vision and
calling our founders intended. We trust this Opportunity Profile will show our commitment to
providing a spiritual and academic foundation that transforms and prepares students to be
world changers for Christ.
God’s abundant grace at Grove City is evident. We have been blessed with the leadership of
David Arrell for the last seven years, who is now called to support the development of Christian
schools across the state of Ohio, and our K-12 enrollment has grown from 627 to 778 in the
last 5 years. A sense of thankfulness and gratitude exists on the campus, and the church and
school leadership are prayerfully anticipating how God will lead our ministry. We are praying for
the next leader who will cultivate our many strengths, nurture the spiritual development of the
students, and plan for expansion of the facilities as needed. The next leader of GCCS/GCCC
will guide our team through a strategic planning process.
Thank you for your consideration of this important position. We understand the significance
of a decision of this magnitude for you and your family, and we pray God will direct you, as we
believe He will surely direct us. We encourage you to read through this Opportunity Profile,
watch the introductory video, and explore our website for additional information. If you are
interested in pursuing this opportunity, please reference the Process of Candidacy page to
begin the application process. If you have any questions or wish to learn more before applying,
please contact Laura Coverstone or Ed Poff (615-261-4623), the JobfitMatters Consultants
OVERVIEW
The Head of School will oversee two distinct ministries of The Naz Church: Grove City
Christian School, serving 778 students K-12, and Grove City Christian Child Care, serving 250
children from the age of six weeks through grade 4. After three decades of growth, waiting lists
exist for families desiring to enroll their children in the program at many ages 0-12. Grove City
Christian School and Child Care has established itself in the community as a desirable school
in the following areas:
Faithful Staff
The faculty and staff have a genuine love for the Lord, and the spiritual
growth of the students is a high priority. The curriculum is biblically
focused and the teachers are loving and caring, partnering with parents
to meet students’ needs.
School Culture
Families are drawn to GCCS/GCCC because of the welcoming, family
atmosphere. Students are known and supported. The community is
relational and engaging, and desires to hold onto that culture as the
school grows.
Financial Health
With the blessing of a supportive church community, GCCS/GCCC
enjoys zero debt and a balanced budget. The church stands ready to
partner in the investments in new buildings on the 54-acre campus, as
needed, to accommodate the growth.

The school’s talented faculty and staff are committed to continuous improvement, and The
Naz has repeatedly supported the needs of the school, including funding the recent $2.1M
addition. The campus is located in a rapidly growing area south of Columbus, Ohio, with easy
access to downtown Columbus and the John Glenn International airport. Businesses and
families are relocating to the area in record numbers, in part due to the announcement of Intel
bringing 3,000 jobs. Ohio has favorable tax policies toward private schools and is considering
adding more. The school desires for Christian families to have access to a Christian education
providing growth in all areas of life, including spiritual formation, academics, arts, and athletics.
GCCS/GCCC’s leaders are seeking a Head of School who will collaboratively articulate the
vision of the school and develop a detailed strategic plan moving forward. Managing the high
demand for the school while maintaining its close-knit community is a key challenge but also
a unique and exciting opportunity.
Mission and Vision
The Mission of Grove City Christian School is to partner with Biblebelieving
families and their churches in providing the spiritual and
academic foundation that cultivates, transforms, and prepares students
to be Christian leaders who impact their world.
The Vision is to see our students living as Christian leaders impacting
their world for God’s glory.

STATEMENT OF FAITH
Grove City Christian School serves students from many denominational backgrounds. We do
this by respecting the doctrinal issues of other denominations without compromising the faith
and beliefs of the Church of the Nazarene denomination (see Articles of Faith).
We, the fellowship of the Grove City Church of the Nazarene believe in one God – The
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Genesis 1; Isaiah 5:16, 6:1-7, 40:18-31; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19-20)
We believe that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration,
contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.
(Luke 24:44-47; John 10:35; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Timothy 3:15-17)
We believe that man is born with a fallen nature, and is, therefore, inclined to evil, and
that continually.
(Matthew 22:36-40 (with 1 John 3:4); Romans 3:23)
We believe that the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.
(Ezekiel 18:25-26; John 1:12-13; Acts 5:31; Romans 5:6-8)
We believe that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race;
and that whosoever repents and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and
regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin.
(Isaiah 53:5-6; Mark 10:45; Luke 24:46-48; John 1:29, 3:14-17)

We believe that believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration,
through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
(Jeremiah 31:31-34; Ezekiel 36:25-27; Matthew 3:11-12; Romans 6:11-13)
We believe that the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire
sanctification of believers.
(Jeremiah 31:31-34; Ezekiel 36:25-27; Luke 3:16--17; Acts 1:5, Acts 2:1-4, Acts 5:8-9)
We believe that our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment
will take place.
(Matthew 25:31-46; John 14:1-3; Acts 1:9-11; Revelation 1:7-8, 22:7-20)

HISTORY
Grove City Child Care opened in 1989 on Columbus Street with 13 staff and 56 children.
In 1990, Grove City Church of the Nazarene founded Grove City Christian School as part of the master
plan. Several families within the church community expressed the need to start the school. It was
always intended to be an outreach of GCCN and remain a part of the church. The goal was to see every
student grounded in the Word and able to defend his or her beliefs.
The first kindergarten class had 15 students, most of whom were children of church members. It was
the mission of the school board to add a grade level every year as the original class progressed. The
goal was never large enrollment but rather to provide a solid Christian education for students. The
school occupied the space now known as the Early Elementary Wing.
