Wall monument of white marble on a black base. Cherub angel statue st<strong>and</strong>ing to the left side<br />

of plaque, on top urn draped with cloth.<br />

last / VISCOUNT IRWIN / of TEMPLE NEWSAN / in the county of YORK / <strong>and</strong> relict of / HUGO<br />

MEYNELL Esq.re / of HOAR CROSS in this county / who died August 21st 1817 / When the ear<br />

heard then it blest her / <strong>and</strong> when the eye saw her it gave witness to her / because she<br />

delivered the poor that cried / <strong>and</strong> the fatherless <strong>and</strong> him that had none to help him / This<br />

The wooden screen seperating the chapel from the sanctuary. on the top are the coat of arms<br />

of the MEYNELL INGRAM family underneath the carved motto:- "For God <strong>and</strong> King" it is<br />

actually in Latin. Ung Diru ung Roi.<br />

39/ MEYNALL chapel.<br />

Monument carved canopy supported bt buttresses each bearing angels carrying enamelled coats<br />

of arms to families related to the MEYNELL INGRAMS. Two coats of arms are missing.<br />

"Orate pro animabus Hugonis Francisci Meynell-Ingram, / De Hoar Cross in hoc comitatu / et<br />

Temple Newsam in comitatu eboracensi, / filii Hogonis Caroli Meynell-Ingram et Georgiana<br />

uxoris ejus / qui obdormivit XXVI Die maii a.s. MDCCCLXXI / et uxoris ejusdem Hugonis<br />

Franicisci / Emiliae Carlottae Meynell-Ingram, filiae Caroli ist comitis Grey / Eq. gartni.<br />
