Oli’s art: ‘I love to share my
Charitable Trust

OLI AIKAWA has always had a love for
art and a passion for the community.
Over the past few years, the 18-year-old
has become well known for his artworks
in all forms – sculpture, murals, oil
paintings and water colours.
Last year, in his final year of high
school, Aikawa won the Canterbury
Artstart scholarship and the senior
sculpture design section of the
Re:ACTIVATE for aspiring artists.
“Art is a way to communicate, express
thoughts and feelings on things. I love
to share my works and involve the
community,” he said.
The former Christ’s College student
is studying architecture at Victoria
University in Wellington.
He and fellow Christ’s College students
and alumni will have their works for
sale at the students and old boys’ art
exhibition in the college’s assembly
hall foyer on October 14-15 from
10am-8pm.
