Five festive hair treats

The best festive season starts
from the top down, so here are
five tips to treat a loved one or
even yourself.
1. Add seasonal sparkle to your
hair colour with babylights
Quick and commitment free, babylights are
very fine strands of highlighted hair that are
placed around your hairline to add a touch of
lightness to your face. Because no colour touches
the skin, they can be done without the need for
a skin test. And due to them being so fine, they
leave no definite regrowth making them perfect for
a sprinkling of festive colour or a one-off treat.
2. Treat your hair to a deep
healthy shine with a salon quality
conditioning treatment
Add these luscious creams to freshly
shampooed hair and leave for 10-15 mins, rinse
and enjoy beautiful, shiny, healthy hair.

3. Accessorise to glamourise
Try out some beautiful hair clips, combs,
brooches or other hair accessories like decorative
slides with sparkly stones and beads, Alice bands
and decorated pins.
Most of these are super easy to attach, can be
used in any hair type or texture, and almost any
hair length, perfect for adding quick and easy
glamour to party hair. Spend some time at the
high street accessory shops and try some on and,
if you’re stuck, get your hairdresser to show you
how to use them.
4. Party in style with a pin-up
Wow the party scene by treating yourself to
a special occasion pin up. Lots of salons offer
a service to cleanse, blow dry and pin-up
your hair for any occasion.
For the party season, keep your hair loose and
fun, not too set or formal. Barrel tong curls pinned
up loose work great for medium to thick hair. For
finer hair, roller sets offer longer lasting curls and
waves. Be sure to call and check ahead as many
styling services require a little more time on top of
your existing appointment.
5. Don’t forget the gift cards
Most salons will offer vouchers or gift cards
that can be packaged and given as lovely, useful
gifts. Some salons will even add an extra value to
the purchase. Even if you buy one for yourself, it
can be great way to spread the cost for any future
services you might have later in the new year.
