1 | BOKER KALASHNIKOV BAYONET DAMAST
In 1947, Mikhail Kalashnikov presented the AK-47
assault rifle he had designed to the Red Army and
was able to convince the decision-makers of its
development without delay. Only two years later, the
now world famous AK-47 was officially commissioned
as the 7.62mm Avtomat Kalashnikova 1947. Mikhail
Kalashnikov personally visited the Boker Manufactory
in Solingen in 2002 and officially presented the knife
line Boker Kalashnikov to the public. More than 70
years after the AK-47 was put into service, we now
present a truly extraordinary, special model of the knife
line and honor, once again, his brilliant engineering
performance.
2 | BOKER 98K DAMAST
The epic Boker 98k Damascus brings an important
piece of German military history to life. The world
famous Karabiner 98k carbine was introduced by the
Wehrmacht, the German Armed Forces in 1935 as a
standard service rifle, and remained the most widely
used infantry rifle by German soldiers until the end of
the Second World War in 1945. The bolt action rifle was
based on the Mauser System 98 breech system, which
was used with the 98 rifle as the standard weapon of
the German Army as early as the First World War.
As a reaction to the introduction of the first low smoke
ammunition in France, the German Army Command
had already commissioned the development of a new
cartridge in 1887. This also included the tender for
a new rifle. The Prussian Rifle Testing Commission
chose the 98 rifle of the brothers Franz-Andreas and
Peter-Paul Mauser, who were already known to the
Commission for the excellent design and workmanship
of the Model 71.
The rifle locking system, known internationally mainly
as the Mauser system, was officially introduced in
the Prussian Army in 1898. The pioneering features
were the wing safety with three safety positions, the
generously dimensioned non-rotating extractor with
controlled cartridge feed, and the two vertically locking
nipples on the head of the chambered case. Reliability,
robustness and handling safety make the system to this
day the most frequently built and reproduced chamber
bolt repeater system in history and it continues to be
manufactured worldwide for civilian purposes.
The Boker 98k Damascus picks up different design
elements of the 98k bayonet, and is also equipped
with a unique Damascus blade made of the Mauser
carbine barrel steel. The remarkable Damascus is hand
forged by Chad Nichols in the "Ripple" pattern. The
unique blade, with its pronounced ricasso, is opened
by nail nick and features a protruding backlock. The
handle scales, made of local walnut wood, take up the
diagonally grooved structure of the bayonet handle
scales and provide a secure grip. Under the steel bolster,
the transverse groove for lateral cleaning of the shaft
of the cleaning rod holder has also been adopted.
3 | BOKER P08 DAMAST
The unique Boker P08 Damascus boot dagger connects
the world of knives with historical military history in
an inimitable way. The P08, also known as Parabellum
Pistol or simply Luger Pistol, is still considered
legendary today and convinces with highest precision
and reliability. The knee-joint lock with short barrel
return, developed by Georg Luger, made the pistol 08
incredibly compact and solid. Added to this was the
caliber 9mm Luger (9x19 NATO), also developed by
Luger for the new pistol, was one of the most powerful
short firearm calibers at the time and is still the most
widely used official caliber in the world today.
It was used as a standard pistol by the German armies
in both world wars, but also gained world fame
beyond the country's borders in a very short time. As
early as 1914, the weapon was used in the armies of
Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Portugal and Turkey, and
was considered a much sought-after weapon until the
end of the Second World War. The production of the
compact pistol required 14 kilograms of steel and its
design required such a high degree of precision that
completely new demands were made on the production
technology. Its unmistakable, almost iconic appearance
secured it a firm place in popular culture like no other
pistol.
The Boker P08 Damascus not only incorporates various
design elements of the unusually aesthetic official
weapon, but is also equipped with a unique Damascus
blade made of the barrel steel of this precise pistol. The
Full tang construction
from P08 Damascus.
remarkable Damascus is forged by Chad Nichols, by
hand, in a "Boomerang" pattern. The handle scales
of the likewise compactly built boot dagger are made
of certified imported rosewood and feature the classic,
simple fish-scale cut of the characteristic pistol grip.
The same construction of the retaining screws is used
to mount these handle scales as on the P08. The cone
of the exposed barrel is also found in the angle of the
handle sides.
The bolsters and end knob are made of steel and are
finished with a dark stonewash finish. Includes a
high quality black leather sheath with a sewn-in Ulticlip,
and can be easily attached thanks to the locking
spring clip. Thus the Boker P08 Damascus boot dagger
can be pulled effortlessly while the sheath is reliably
held in place to the user by the Ulti-clip. Handmade
in the Boker Manufactory in Solingen. Presented
