The mission of the Portuguese Association of Wood and Furniture Industries
(AIMMP) is to represent, promote and protect the interests of Portuguese
companies from the five sectorial divisions that make up the wood and furniture
sector: wood cutting, felling, sawing and wood packing; panels, other
wood derivatives and biomass energy; carpentry and alike; furniture and alike;
export, import and distribution of wood and derivatives.
The Association operates in strategic domains and provides specialized services
in areas such as Forest Preservation, Institutional Representation, Internationalization,
Digital Transformation, Decarbonization, Training and Talent
Attraction, Certification, Industrial Property Innovation and Development.
In recent years, due to its vast experience and remarkable flexibility, Portugal
has shown a high degree of dynamism and creativity in the wood and furniture
sector becoming one of the major global suppliers.
Through Inter Wood & Furniture - a structured intervention program dedicated
to internationalization - more than 400 companies, through more than 140
actions in more than 32 markets were supported with incentives up to 50%,
having certainly contributed to the growth of the sector which, since 2010, has
doubled its exports and expanded its destination markets.

1989 and results from the vision of Mr. Agostinho Dias
de Freitas who started his business activity in the area of

furniture, veneer of wood derivatives and manufacture of
components for the furniture sector.
A. Freitas & Barbosa, Lda. has a group of professionals
with extensive experience in the wood derivatives market
