one of our two independent breweries for a taste of locally brewed craft
beer.
The Atlas Saloon & Brewery
This historic building is a popular spot in Excelsior Springs. The brewery
takes inspiration from the famous water of Excelsior Springs to brew German
beers of old. Its beers are named for the mineral springs that once
brought people to Excelsior Springs from all over the world. The Atlas is
located at 100 W. Broadway Ave. (See more about The Atlas Saloon
on the next page.)
Dubious Claims Brewing Co.
Housed in trendy industrial styled decor, Dubious Claims Brewing Co.
is home to craft beers brewed in-house along with a menu that boasts
pizza, appetizers and more. Of 30 different DCBC beers, you'll find 18
or more on tap anytime you visit. From the bar, you can gaze into the
brew house to see the stainless steel tanks (named after members of Van
Halen) that brew the delicious beer you're enjoying. Visit Dubious Claims

If your craft beer palate is limited, both locations offer Aight options;
the perfect opportunity to taste test multiple Aavors to find your favorite.
Many other Excelsior Springs establishments carry a variety of domestic
and craft beers to enjoy. Beer is a feature at most Excelsior Springs
functions, often in beer garden form, but sometimes as the focal point
of the whole event (see Mug Shots, page 40). Craft beer hobbyists can
even join the fun, entering the popular Home Brew Contest that happens
in conjunction with the Annual BBQ & Fly-In on the River (see page 40).

ANNUAL WATERFEST CELEBRATION
JUNE 21-22, 2024
Sponsored by the Excelsior Springs Area Chamber of Commerce, Waterfest is an annual event that celebrates the city's
mineral water heritage with a weekend full of music, activities, food and fun!
The historic downtown transforms into a festival grounds. The sound of kids laughing as they slide and bounce around
the inflatable playground or take a pony ride will be heard as your stomach rumbles from the smell of funnel cake and
BBQ. Vendors line the streets offering art, crafts, apparel, custom items and so much more. Live music entertains throughout
the two days. As the sun settles below the horizon, pause for a spectacular fireworks show over the Hall of Waters.
On Saturday, join us downtown for a parade featuring Aoats, celebrities, vintage cars, bands and dancing troupes. This
is just a small taste of what Waterfest is like ... you need to be here to experience the full effect!
