CFI UK update
New chairman for CFI Charitable Trust
At their quarterly
meeting in November,
David Greer retired as
chairman of CFI Charitable
Trust and David Linnell was
elected the new Chairman.
CFI UK staff presented David
Greer with two ‘coffee table’ books:
Chris Sinkinson’s ‘Background
to the Bible’ and Jerusalem Post’s
‘Front Page Israel’.
Retiring Chairman David Greer

Thank you for your fellowship
with Sandra and myself over
the years. We will continue to
support CFI UK and, the Lord
willing, continue to attend the
Prayer Conference, Annual
Conference, and Insight Prayer
Zoom meetings.
It has been a privilege to be a
member of the CFI Board of
Trustees and to be Chairman.
Sandra and I believe that there
are new things the Lord has for
us to do, and will continue to
pray for the Board and staff.
The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make his face shine upon
you, and be gracious to you; The
Lord lift up his countenance upon
you, and give you his shalom.

We are delighted to welcome
David Linnell as the new
Chairman of CFI Charitable Trust.
He has considerable experience of
business management in the NHS
and has been a trustee of CFI UK
for eleven years, assuming the role
of vice-Chairman five years later.
He is married to Anne, a recently
retired NHS Consultant, and they
have two grown up children.
We look forward to all the Lord
has in store for this new phase and
thank you for your prayers.

Touching
the Sceptre
King’s Park Conference Centre, Northampton NN3 6LL
“As in the days…. of Esther.”
There is an increasing need for us as Christian friends to support Israel in both prayer and action.
Our theme for the CFI UK Prayer Conference in 2024, around the time of the feast of Purim in
Israel, is ‘touching the sceptre’, as in the days of Esther.
The book of Esther is unique in that it doesn’t mention God directly, but throughout its pages his mercy is in
every detail. The festival of Esther (Purim) commemorates the salvation of the Jewish people in ancient Persia
from Haman’s plot. The cry from Israel’s adversary was, “destroy, kill, and annihilate all the Jews, young and old,
infants and women, in a single day” (Esther 3:13). Sadly, this has been seen and heard again in the recent horrific
scenes in Israel on 7 th October 2023. Today the King of kings summons us to boldly but humbly approach his
throne of grace in this time of need. We pray that during our time together we may touch the tip of his heavenly
sceptre and intercede on behalf of Israel in these days.
