concluded with a sound film of Mildred Dilling performing
several compositions.
Highlight of the year was hearing Nicanor Zabaleta's
two recitals at the Speed Museum Endowed Music
Series.
The next meeting will be held in March when students
of Sister Ida Jones and Elaine Humphreys will perform.
MEMPHIS

A Spring meeting will be held on May 5, at the
Lindenwood Christian Church. "Many Facets of the
Harp" will be the theme of the program, and all
members are invited to participate.
The Chapter wishes to congratulate the following
members on their new positions: Marian Jackson
Huselton, principal harpist of the Memphis Symphony
and Opera Theatre Orchestras; Olivia Bruce and Jeannie
Isbell, Memphis Youth Symphony harpists; and
Leigh Cheatham, harpist with the Memphis State
University orchestra. It was good to have two members
in town and performing in December: Barbara Wehlan
from Cleveland, Ohio, and Carolyn Mills from Boston.
RICHMOND
President, Elizabeth Graham, 6B Vintage Dr., Richmond,

In order to re-activate the Richmond Chapter,
Elizabeth Graham invited interested people to attend an
organizational meeting in her home on November 12,
1978. She read the charter of the American Harp Society
to show how it would apply, and officers were
elected. Ways of encouraging the playing of harps in the
area were discussed.
On December 23, a Christmas party and recital was
held at the Engligh Hills Apartment Clubhouse at which
time Debra Harrison, Karen Pettis, Helen Rice, Sheryl
Bruce, and Lisa Washington played appropriate
Christmas harp music.
NORTHWEST OHIO
President, Jan Bishop, 1000 Crystal Ave., Findlay,

The Northwest Ohio Chapter was very sorry to see
President Judy Dow move in December to Seattle,
Wash. We wish to thank her for her work in building
the Chapter and we hope she will find much success in
Seattle. Jan Bishop is now the acting president.
Members of the Chapter have been very active during
the Fall and Winter. Ruth lnglefield played with the
Bowling Green State University Chamber Orchestra in
the premier performance of Dreams Before Dark: Poem
by Riva Kuhl. Nancy Rado spent the Winter in Vail,
Colorado, where she performed nightly at the Mark
Resort. Jan Bishop played in the Lima Symphony, making
it her eleventh season with the Symphony. Mary Majewski
presented her Senior recital and Denise Grupp
