CICMQ Setting the

Top of the class
THE London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), one of the foremost social science
universities in the world, welcomed Sue Chapple FCICM, Luke Sculthorp FCICM and Karen
Tuffs (FCICM)Grad to one of its newest campus buildings in London in January. The CICM team
were delighted to present Glenn Ruane, Head of the Fees, Income and Credit Control (FICC),
and the members of the FICC team with LSE’s first CICMQ Best Practice accreditation award.
CFO, Mike Ferguson and Assistance Director of Finance & Head of Financial Systems, Keith
Adams joined 15 members of the successful team in celebrating receiving their well-deserved
Merit pass. Securing such a score at The School’s first attempt is an impressive achievement.
Due to office space restrictions and working practices meant it was a hybrid in-room/virtual presentation and I was asked
to present virtually – Karen Tuffs FCICM(Grad).
Legion of Merit
THE Adecco Group UK & Ireland credit control team, led by Debbie Matthews MCICM(Grad),
accompanied by Lauren Rogers ACICM, hosted its CICMQ award presentation in the Birmingham
office in February. Debbie and Lauren were joined by Karen Tuffs FCICM(Grad), CICM Head of
Accreditation, and their 40-strong team both in person and virtually to celebrate their impressive
achievement of securing a fifth consecutive CICMQ accreditation with a Merit pass. A massive
well done to the Adecco team, and onwards and upwards to CICMQ Award number six!
Excellence in Credit Management
CICM Excellence in Credit Management status is the Chartered Institute
of Credit Management’s highest accolade.
Stepping on the gas
XOSERVE is the latest high-profile
organisation to secure CICMQ
re-accreditation. Not only did the Credit
Risk and Neutrality Team, led by Brendan
Gill, Business Process Manager, secure their
fourth consecutive accolade but they did it
in style with a Distinction pass. Xoserve,
which is central to Great Britain’s wholesale
gas market, are the first organisation to
be awarded the highest grade level in the
refreshed CICMQ programme. Sue Chapple
FCICM, Luke Sculthorp FCICM and Karen
Tuffs FCICM(Grad) joined the team’s
monthly meeting together with members of
Xoserve’s Senior Leadership Team including
CEO, Steve Brittan and Head of Finance and
Support Services, James Spicer, to celebrate
this impressive achievement.
Rewarding talent

Bell MCICM, Head of Global Credit
Control, accompanied by Liz Whittaker,
Director of Financial Accounting and
Operations, and Aisling Miller ACICM,
Credit Control Manager at the Alexander
Mann Solutions (AMS) London office to
receive AMS’s CICMQ award. Following
initial accreditation in March 2020, Eileen
led the UK and Ireland team of this global
provider of talent acquisition services to
secure the Credit Control team’s second
prestigious award with a Merit pass. Some 14
AMS team members joined the celebrations
remotely, enjoying time out of their busy
collections schedules to reflect on their
well-earned success.
The professional body awards this accreditation only to organisations
that can demonstrate they meet specific challenging criteria as
confirmed by the Institute’s Executive Board. Successful applicants will
achieve Excellence in Credit Management for a period of two years from
the date the accreditation is granted.
Organisations can apply for the award annually and up to five will be
awarded at the British Credit Awards. Judging will be undertaken by
members of the Executive Board.
