VP International Students (Education & Welfare) The VP International Students (Education & Welfare) is responsible for representing and championing the voice of International students. This will involve maintaining relationships with key University stakeholders including University staff and departments integral to international students. The VP International Students (Education & Welfare) will also be responsible for running and maintaining the International Students Association. Ana Nagiel Escobar International Students VP In my 8 years in the UK, I've struggled with migration documents, homesickness, and the frustration of my limited rights—a feeling shared by many international students. These initiatives will enhance support and advocacy for students. Family F Discount • International students face exorbitant costs, with tuition fees 2x or 3x higher than Home students’, and huge expenses for visas and living. • A Family Discount will reduce the pressure on students who come with their siblings and other relatives! Other universities have already done it, so why not here? Multicultural r l Campus • Ignorance breeds intolerance. Let's make Uni a multicultural space where diverse beliefs, cultures, and languages are celebrated. • Working with cultural societies, Residence Lifers, and Wellbeing Champions, I plan events to showcase cultures and encourage holiday celebrations. International t Students ts Forum F • 1/3 of students are international, but there's a disconnect with the Union. When they speak up, communication gaps hinder meeting their needs. • I propose a forum with Anti-Racism, LGBTQ+, and Women’s officers to make campaigns effective and amplify student voices.
