It was an afternoon of firsts for
all of us that day at Drekker’s
Brewhalla. Amanda “Mandy”
Krautkraemer, the newest
addition to Froggy 99.9’s
morning show, had never been
interviewed before. Nor had Mark
“Tank” Hamre (whose stature
doesn’t match his nickname).
And apparently nobody has ever
asked Noel “Scotch” Anderson
about his signature hairstyle, at
least not on the record.

As for me, I had never groupinterviewed…
uh, what do you
call a group of radio DJs? A
bumper? An arbitron? We may
never know. Regardless, the trio
of prodigious personalities that
make up “The Wake Up Call”
made it easy. Their instinct to
not speak over one another was
incredibly helpful.
Still, it was a fast-paced
conversation that began before
we even took our seats. While
loitering at the bar ordering
beers, a toddler-sized juice
box suddenly materialized in
Mandy’s hands. The mother of
two claims the server offered it
to her, but it looked suspiciously
like a secret purse snack to the
rest of us. Again, we may never
know.
So belly up as we get to know
Mandy, Tank and Scotch over
more than a couple of midday
beers.
