emblem of little Orleans (Pop. 2,107).<br />
“Operation Dogwood”—launched by<br />
townspeople in the mid-1960s—has succeeded<br />
in its goal of having hundreds of trees planted<br />
along roads and in parks and yards. The annual<br />
Dogwood Festival, held in late <strong>April</strong>, celebrates<br />
Orleans as the “Dogwood Capital of <strong>Indiana</strong>”.<br />
