Megan Thee Stallion, born Megan Jovon Ruth Pete on <strong>February</strong> 15, 1995, is an American rapper, singer, and<br />
songwriter who has taken the music industry by storm with her unique style and empowering lyrics. Hailing from<br />
Houston, Texas, Megan's rise to fame has been nothing short of meteoric, and she has quickly become one of the<br />
most influential figures in contemporary hip-hop.<br />
Megan's love for music began at a young age, and she started writing her own<br />
rap lyrics when she was just 16 years old. She gained attention through her<br />
freestyle videos on social media platforms like Instagram, where her confident<br />
delivery and witty wordplay caught the attention of a wider audience. In 2016,<br />
she released her first mixtape, "Rich Ratchet," which showcased her raw talent<br />

Like many of you, my first memory was of being born. I do not like that memory. It was very traumatic. I felt I was speeding<br />
O* through a dark, slippery tunnel at a high rate of speed. It was, after all, the first time I'd moved since I was conceived, so despite<br />
the minimalist speed with which I traveled, it was dizzying. When I emerged, I felt I had crashed through a jungle into the hands<br />
of a giant. Racing, from that moment on – my first moment, my first memory – has always been a passion.<br />
Then, when I was 7 years old, on Memorial Saturday, 5/29/67, that passion got kicked into overdrive. Mom told me that our<br />
neighbors, Tommy & Carole, were taking my brother Mike & me out. Where we were going was a mystery revealed when we<br />
reached the gate of Riverside Amusement Park, Agawam MA. I was never on a roller coaster when they took me on the<br />
Thunderbolt, a mediocre wooden coaster which overlooked The Main Event: Riverside Park Raceway for the Saturday Night<br />
Modifieds. It was the first of many times they'd take us to the races. We went to the modifieds nearly every Saturday night when<br />
in season; if not Riverside, to Stafford Speedway, Stafford Springs CT, right up until we moved in October '69. Stafford is still<br />
open, as Stafford Speedway; and Riverside is now Six Flags New England. Their DC Universe section is on the site of the<br />
Raceway. I saw Tommy race in three Demolition Derbies at Riverside. He came in 3 rd once. Whenever he entered a Derby, he'd<br />
pick up some clunker at the auction, fix & modify it, then hook it up to his trailer, and we were off the races. Tommy would talk a<br />
lot about racing at 'The Holy Grail of Modified Stock Cars someday: Daytona. That place is holy ground.', he'd say. Daytona, I<br />
found out in 2017, was New Smyrna Speedway, whose original name, Daytona Raceway, was changed in 1968, to distinguish it<br />
from Daytona International Speedway. He never did get to race there. Had it not been for Tommy & Carole, I might never have<br />
had an experience in racing beyond my very first memory. They're still our friends of my wife & I more than 56 years later, living<br />
in Okeechobee. We can't wait to see them again.<br />
If not for these early memories, I might have never seen a number of good to great racing films, including: The motorcycle racing<br />
film The World's Fastest Indian; the very good Gran Turismo, from last year; Ford v Ferrari; and last year's great movie, Michael<br />
Mann's “Ferrari”. Mann first started to develop Ferrari in '93, with Robert De Niro in mind for the lead. Adam Driver plays Enzo<br />
Ferrari, the owner and founder of the Ferrari automobile company. Enzo so loves racing, he sells Ferrari's solely to fund his team<br />
of drivers who compete in open-road races. It's 1957, and he & his company are in financial ruin. His lifestyle exceeds his<br />
earnings. His wife Laura (Penelope Cruz), is good with money and owns half of the company. But she isn't about to help him out.<br />
Their marriage in on the rocks because of Enzo's serial infidelity. He loves his mistress Lina (Shailene Woodley), the mother of<br />
his young son Piero (Giuseppe Festinese), neither of of whom Laura is aware. The only way for Enzo to solve his financial woes is if<br />
his team to wins the Mille Miglia (or One Thousand Miles), an open-road race around Italy. The performances by Driver, Cruz,<br />
and Woodley are fantastic. And young Giuseppe Festinese is fantastic as well, and as adorable as a newborn baby.<br />
Bypassed for a Golden Globe nomination, Ferrari was nominated for the Best Sound BAFTA (the UK equivalent to the Oscars),<br />
and Penelope Cruz was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Award. The results of neither have<br />
been decided yet and, as of this writing, the Oscar nominations haven't been announced. I recommend Ferrari HIGHLY. It's as<br />
fast-passed and dramatic as open-road racing itself, and yet another on the incredibly long list of excellent 2023 features. 4<br />

Husband and wife duo Blake Abbey & Jessie Abbey have been<br />
performing, touring & writing together since 2008, making this year their<br />
“sweet 16” as a band. After dominating the West Coast indie scene with<br />
3 Sammies and prestigious Hall of Fame Induction in 2015, the pair<br />
relocated to Florida for a change of artistic scenery and as a means to<br />
establish a new home base for touring the East Coast and Mid-West<br />
regions.<br />
They have since become parents of two little girls who are the<br />
inspiration behind full length original "Kindie" Kids' Album<br />
"Abbeycadabra" Though they took a break from the road to raise their<br />
little ones, they never took a break from writing and recording in the<br />
studio. In addition to 5 full lengths & EP's as well as 2 solo releases by<br />
Jessie Abbey, they continue to release new original music almost<br />
monthly all of which can be found on Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple<br />
Music etc.<br />
Currently performing over 250 shows per year locally, they have<br />
perfected their live show as well and will soon be touring again in<br />
support of their latest releases. (Only this time, with kids in tow!)<br />

If a movie Director could be a rockstar, we are guessing that the greatest of all time would be none other than<br />
George Lucas.<br />
Sure as a Director or writer the Academy award statuette’s aren’t completely adorning his basement yet,<br />
there’s one thing that certainly does, that’s the stacks and stacks of cash. It’s common knowledge that Mr.<br />
Lucas loves an old-fashioned so here’s a fantasy piece about maybe just maybe Darth Vader walking through a<br />
smoky bar and creating the perfect drink.<br />
The Old-Fashioned is a classic cocktail that dates back to the early 19th century. It is a simple yet<br />
sophisticated drink that highlights the flavors of whiskey or bourbon. The smoky Old-Fashioned is a modern<br />
twist on this timeless cocktail.<br />
To make the perfect smoky Old-Fashioned, start by muddling a sugar cube with a few dashes of bitters in a<br />
glass. Add a splash of water and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Next, add a large ice cube and pour in your<br />
choice of smoky whiskey or bourbon. Stir gently to combine the flavors.<br />
To add a smoky element, you can use a smoking gun or a smoky scotch rinse. Infuse the drink with the smoky<br />
aroma by placing the glass over the smoking gun or rinsing it with a small amount of smoky scotch.Then add<br />
some heavy breathing while yelling into a running fan and say in a deep voice ….<br />

Garnish with an orange twist or a cherry, and you have a perfectly balanced and smoky Old-Fashioned that is<br />
sure to delight your taste buds.<br />
