NBSAP in their work plans

Background
In 1998, CI identified the Philippines as one
of 17 megadiversity countries
w In 1999, CI further identified the Philippines
as one of 25 global hotspots
on a per unit area basis, the Philippines is
the top megadiversity country and hottest of
the hotspots
m There was a need to localize this information
Objectives
w 1. Identify, assess, and prioritize
specific geographic areas for
biodiversity conservation in the
Philippines through an established
process, which supplements published
information with a consensus of the
latest expert knowledge.
