DESCRIPTION<br />
The <strong>VERSA</strong> <strong>III</strong> <strong>pump</strong> is an electrically operated gear<br />
<strong>pump</strong> intended for use in volumetric type (PDI)<br />
centralised lubrication systems. This compact unit<br />
comes with a 2L or 4L reservoir, has a low level<br />
switch and an oil pressure switch as standard.<br />
There is an optional controller version, designed to<br />
fully control the lubrication cycles within a PDI<br />
injector environment. <strong>Electrical</strong> connection is via<br />
M12x1 for quick and efficient installation.<br />
OPERATION<br />

<strong>Electrical</strong> <strong>pump</strong><br />
<strong>VERSA</strong> <strong>III</strong><br />
When the <strong>pump</strong> is switched on, the 230V motor drives a gear <strong>pump</strong>, which delivers oil into the main<br />
distribution line. The pressure in the line will increase until ultimately it reaches system pressure at which<br />
point the integrated relief valve opens and prevents the pressure from increasing any further. During this<br />
period of pressure rise, the<br />
injectors in the distribution<br />
line will fire and eject a<br />
metered volume of oil to<br />
the appropriate lubrication<br />
point. Also, during this<br />
period, the pressure switch<br />
will close, providing a signal<br />
back to the <strong>pump</strong>.<br />
Depending on how the<br />
<strong>pump</strong> is configured, this<br />
pressure switch may be<br />
used to control the On-<br />
Time of the <strong>pump</strong>. Once<br />
the <strong>pump</strong> switches off, the<br />
distribution line pressure<br />
will be relieved through an<br />
integrated dump valve,<br />
enabling the injectors to<br />
reset.<br />

CONTROLLER<br />
There are 4 modes of operation, each mode controlling the Pump-On time in a different way. Mode d2 is the<br />
appropriate mode for these Versa <strong>III</strong> units, while d1 may also be used simply as a timer.<br />

Pump runs for user-set on-time.<br />
Pump runs until pressure switch signals.<br />
Continues to run for a further 4 seconds.<br />
Pump will fault if no pressure switch signal is<br />
received within the user-set fault time.<br />
Pump runs for a user-set no.of cycles, each<br />
cycle determined by a cycle switch signal.<br />
Pump will fault if time between any 2 cycles is<br />
greater than 5 minutes.<br />
Pump pulses on and off based on user-set<br />
pulse on and pulse off times. Pump continues<br />
to run until no. of user-set pulses is reached.<br />
Programming of the controller is achieved using a 4-digit LED display and 4 soft function keys.<br />
Press S and R simultaneously to begin programming.<br />
Select Operating Mode (as described above) using the �<br />
key to change between options and S to select the<br />
option.<br />
Proceed to set up the various <strong>pump</strong> on-time and <strong>pump</strong><br />
off-time parameters as described in the chart below. Use<br />
the � key to change the number and � to move across<br />
the display.<br />
Press R to save all the data and start the system or<br />
Press S to go back and make further changes.<br />
Running the Controller<br />
Press R to set the system at any time. Controller will begin with a new cycle.<br />
Press S and R simultaneously to stop the system when running. Press S to review the data stored.<br />
