Artotal, Buenos Aires, 2006 Osvaldo Svanascini Artsist statement Painting overnight My painting does not belong to the kind of works you can look at peacefully. As a matter of fact, I’m not able to do it that way. I am selfish in art, I work for myself. In my theme there is a tumultuous relation between men and women, both generally stereotyped. In this fight between sexes underlies always confrontation, harassment and subordination. They make up a powerful erotism, not at all idyllic. Sometimes understanding and love happens. So, with ambition, “fighting overnight” I intend to represent my characters , my rhythms, my painting, following the previous idea I had. Bud suddenly “my hand” knows more than myself –and it was something else- Something I was not searching at all. …And I paint… and so rises my real painting. Finito. Rosemarie Allers
