crown, quatrefoils by neck, fleurs on cusps, quatrefoil on<br />

2001/2000). Light scratches on neck, otherwise nearly<br />
very fine, scarce £90-120<br />
Light coinage, Groat, Bristol, class VII, mm. crown,<br />
quatrefoils by neck, fleurs on cusps except above crown, B<br />
on breast, reads BRISTOW, trefoil after VIL <strong>and</strong> LA, saltire stops,<br />

on obv. only, reads DI GRA, rose after POSVI <strong>and</strong> DON, double<br />

Nearly extremely fine, a very rare variety £250-300<br />
According to Blunt & Whitton [BNJ XXV, p.323], only one reverse<br />
die without mintmark shows this combination of stops<br />
Groat, London, class XXI, mm. heraldic cinquefoil, rose on<br />
breast, rose after DEVM, 3.12g/9h (B & W XXI; N 1631; S<br />
2100). About very fine £120-150<br />
Richard III (1483-1485)<br />
Groat, London, type 1, mm. halved sun <strong>and</strong> rose no. 1,<br />
nothing below bust, 3.08g/11h (N 1679; S 2154). A couple<br />
of weak patches, otherwise good very fine, attractively<br />
toned £1,500-1,800<br />
