ROSEWORTHY CAMPUS<br />

Australia’s first agricultural teaching and<br />

research centre, Roseworthy Campus was<br />

established in 1883. The 1,600-hectare campus<br />

is in a rural setting 55 kilometres north of Adelaide<br />

and 10 kilometres from Gawler, a well-serviced<br />

town with a population of almost 20,000. A<br />

shuttle bus service connects Roseworthy with<br />

the North Terrace and Waite campuses.<br />

The campus has excellent teaching and<br />

laboratory facilities and includes a working<br />

farm on which students gain practical<br />

experience and training. With its own student<br />

accommodation, childcare centre, tavern,<br />

swimming pool and fitness centre, Roseworthy<br />

campus is a small community.<br />

Roseworthy is internationally known as a centre<br />

of excellence in dry land agriculture and animal<br />

science. Campus partners include Primary<br />

Industries and Resources South Australia<br />

(PIRSA), South Australian Research and<br />

Development Institute (SARDI), and the Pig and<br />

Poultry Production Institute (PPPI).<br />

The campus is home to the State Government<br />

of South Australia’s Constellation in Animal<br />

Science, and is the centre of the national<br />

operations of Australian Grain Technologies<br />

Pty Ltd (AGT), the largest cereal breeding<br />

company in Australia.<br />

The campus is the home of South Australia’s<br />

first Veterinary Science program which includes<br />

leading-edge teaching facilities and Veterinary<br />

Health Centres.<br />

THEBARTON CAMPUS<br />

Thebarton Campus is a dedicated research<br />

and development park that stimulates vital<br />

interaction between the University and Australian<br />

business and industry.<br />

Located on the banks of the River Torrens close<br />

to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, four<br />

kilometres west of the city centre, the campus<br />

hosts a number of applied research activities<br />

in areas including mechanical engineering,<br />

physical sciences, electronic engineering,<br />

chemical engineering and occupational health.<br />

Commercial enterprises include business<br />

involved in materials engineering, biotechnology,<br />

environmental services, information technology,<br />

SINGAPORE<br />

The Ngee Ann-Adelaide Education Centre<br />

(NAA), a joint venture partnership between<br />

the University of Adelaide and the Ngee Ann<br />

Kongsi, offers a growing range of postgraduate<br />

and undergraduate programs in Singapore.<br />

The Centre is located in the stately Teochew<br />

Building on Tank Road in central Singapore.<br />

Dedicated facilities for students in the completely<br />

renovated building include multimedia equipped<br />

lecture rooms, a student computer network<br />

with internet access, computer equipped<br />

syndicate rooms, a computer laboratory, a<br />

student lounge and private study rooms.<br />

In addition to establishing lasting partnerships<br />

with industry tenants, the campus provides a<br />

physical and program base for development<br />

of student projects and student skills into new<br />

business enterprises as part of the Graduate<br />

Entrepreneurial Program. The program assists<br />

graduates with an innovative idea for a product,<br />

process or service to commence a business,<br />

or links graduates with small to medium-sized<br />

companies to develop innovative ideas.<br />
