need <strong>to</strong> help patients <strong>to</strong> see their pharmacy as a <strong>to</strong>tal health care center, not<br />
simply a pill dispensary,” says Rosa<strong>to</strong>. “Patients should be encouraged <strong>to</strong><br />
spend more time talk<strong>in</strong>g with us. <strong>The</strong>y should tell their pharmacist what<br />
other medications they’re tak<strong>in</strong>g, what vitam<strong>in</strong>s, what m<strong>in</strong>erals, what herbal<br />
supplements. This is all vital <strong>in</strong>formation. So vital, <strong>in</strong> fact, that some cha<strong>in</strong>s<br />
are now sett<strong>in</strong>g up pharmacist counsel<strong>in</strong>g sessions for patients with chronic<br />
diseases <strong>to</strong> help them manage their health.”<br />
