The clear organisation of the site is apparent as
you delve deeper into specific products. For
example, going in to ‘External Wall Cladding’ you
are offered the chance to see images of the panels
themselves, as well as links to technical properties
and span tables for the really serious visitor. Even
with a rather slow 28.8kbps connection, pages
opened in a reasonable time, a reflection of the
tight presentation and restrained use of graphics.
The link to ‘Design Possibilities’ software (also
available on CD) lets you see what your own
particular choice of combinations might look like
on a building. Within given combinations of
structure, details and trim, you can test the effect
of changes made to panel profile and colour on
a 3D model of a typical building. All good fun.
The website, like the product, is quick and easy
to use, offering a good introduction to the new
visitor and a degree of technical information for
the specifier. The site would benefit from
downloadable construction details, and perhaps
more project reviews such as those found in the
excellent ‘Architecture’ series of publications,
but is a tremendous resource that can only
continue to get better.
