AUGUST BOARD MINUTES

CALL TO ORDER
President Frederick Rauch called the meeting to order at
7:04 PM PDT.
Attending: Frederick Rauch, Rik Larson, Kevin
Dougherty, Ruth Stark, John Murphy, Cookie Anderson
and Mike Willis.
Minutes: The July minutes were reviewed and accepted.
OLD BUSINESS:
PayPal Status Update: All money was transferred to our
Wells Fargo account and our PayPal account is up and
running properly.
Christmas Party Update: Mike is working up a budget
and a few “surprises”. The party will be on Sunday
December 11, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Sutter Club.
Registration will be online.
NEW BUSINESS:
Zone Representatives Award: This national award was
presented in honor of Tim Fleming at Parade. It was
presented to Tim Fleming and Susan accepted in his
behalf.
Goodie Store: Cookie wants the board’s approval to buy a
few items for the Goodie Store. She will advise via email
next week how many and how much it will cost and the
board will vote online.
Charity: Ruth updated the board on the upcoming
charity auction. Several members have donated auction
items and she invites others to do the same. There will
be both silent and live auctions. Folks will have to bring
lunch, drinks and chairs.
BOARD MEMBER REPORTS:
Charity (Ruth Stark): (See above)
Competition:
Drivers Education (Frederick Rauch): No report
Autocross (Bob Peake): No report
Rallye (Vacant): September 17th is Carrera de Sierra #33.
Concours (Kent Brandon): No report
Advertising (Mike Willis): Mike and John have had a
couple of inquiries and information was sent, but no word
back yet.
Technical (Lisa Thomas): No report
Drifter: (Kyle Gong): Everything is on schedule.
Membership (Mike Willis): There are 577 primary
members, 417 family members, 55 affiliate members
and 7 dual members for a total of 1049 members in the
Sacramento Valley Region.
Financial Report (Mike Willis): We still have money and
even more since the PayPal deposit.
Goodie Store (Cookie Anderson): Cookie sold about $60
worth of stuff over the past couple of weeks.
Social (Cookie Anderson): Cookie passed out a budget
request for the Wong’s Garden dinner on September 13th.
The budget was approved. Kevin reminded the board that
there will be an October dinner meeting on the 3rd at Back
Bistro in Folsom. This establishment was the 2009 SVR
dinner meeting of the year.
New Members Group: (Dan Rowland & Lee Deter): The
route on the October 8th tour has been rerouted due to a
big event on the current route.
Webmaster (John Murphy): Our website (svr-pca.org)
was awarded 2nd Place in SVR’s Membership Class (IV)
at Parade. This national award is to the webmaster, but for
SVR, it is also to Phil Wood for help creating the new site,
all whose suggestions helped us improve it and the members
who contributed material the judges felt made visitors say,
“That sure looks like a fun group to spend time with!” I
hope 1) they are correct and 2) y’all will keep sending me
stuff to make it even better.
Past President (Cookie Anderson): 54 people attended
the first Saturday breakfast this month.
Vice President (Rik Larson): Rik briefed the board on his
trip to Parade. He also reviewed received activity paperwork
and calendar updates. Rik also went over the draft of an
inventory and services template (see attached).
President (Frederick Rauch): Frederick wrote an article
inviting a member to join the board as treasurer. Frederick
reminded the board it is time to look into nominations for
2012 board members.
Secretary (Kevin Dougherty): No report
