Village Development Action Plan – TURUK RAMABUNG Chapter 7: Participatory wealth assessment Tool 18: Wealth ranking Number of participants: 165 male: 119 female: 46 Objectives: � Identify and understand the poverty status in the village using a state wide criteria of wealth � Understand the asset ownership pattern, income sources and expenditures of different categories or wealth groups � Address livelihood concerns for different wealth groups in the community especially the poor � Figure out appropriate solutions and activities Method: Ranking With whom: Some key informants who know the community well. The exercise is facilitated by 2 members of the facilitation team. State wide criteria for each wealth category While ranking the households into wealth groups, the critical criteria to be used is “Annual Household Income”, all other criteria indicated in the matrix below related to “land ownership”, “housing”, assets etc are only advisory or indicative in nature.
