Tool 2: BRIEF VILLAGE HISTORY Village Development Action Plan – 23 Turuk Ramabung GPU Number of participants: 165 male: 119 female: 46 Description: This tool helps the villagers to remind all important events which happened in the village in the past. It also helps villagers of the community to be aware of their effort passing each period of their recent history. Draw a line on A0 paper. One end of the line will be ‘now’. Explain to the households that this is the History Line Ask the households to recall key events (positive and negative) throughout history (from the earliest to now) and the year they occurred. Objectives: � Find out general information and important events in the recent village history. � Identify important events that brought about some economic, social, cultural etc change in the village. � Change in agricultural trend due to these events.
