It is possible to adjust the door front up to +2.8 mm. The slot on the 

metal bottom plate allows the hinge to slide. Afterwards the screw 

must be re-tightened.

With the DUOMATIC mounting plates with quick mounting system, a

Lateral adjustment 

Lateral adjustment of door with DUOMATIC concealed 

hinges 

A particular adjustment method allows lateral adjustment of 

the door, where the value of 0.7 mm remains unchanged. 

The adjusting screw produces the lateral travel of the hinge 

arm from -1.5 mm up to +4.5 mm. This value is reduced to 

-0.5 mm when using profile door hinges and mini hinges. 

The door moves with respect to the furniture side without 

coming apart. There are no further adjustments needed. 

Height adjustment

Height adjustment of door with DUOMATIC mounting plates 

with slide on and quick mounting system 

Height adjustment of door of ±2 mm is possible by loosening the two 

mounting screws. The slots allow the mounting plates to slide in both 

directions. Afterwards the screws must be re-tightened.

The number of concealed hinges per door depends on: 

• Door width and height 

• Door weight 

• Door material 

According to the example graph, three concealed hinges have 

to be mounted at a door height of 1,500 mm and a door 

weight of 9 to 12 kg.

Profiles that make up the door are cut 

as required to a mitre of 45º. 

Mount the hinges onto the mounting 

plates and attach to the assembled 

frame. The hinge can now be 

inserted into the profile recess at any 

position. 

Cut the inner decorative profile to a 

45º mitre.

There is no general answer to the question of how many hinges to use per door. 

The deciding factors here are the dimensions of the doors and the resulting 

weight. In case of doubt (for doors with mirrors or exceptionally wide doors) a 

trial mounting is recommended. Avoid doors which are wider than they are tall. 

For normal doors made of conventional materials, the adjacent table can be 

used to aid your decision. If in doubt, allow for an extra hinge.

FLAP-EX 

This hinge is particularly suitable for installing in cabinets 

with front flaps. 

The door is opened under spring tension by 

approximately 27° by simply applying pressure directly to 

the door. When the door is closed, the flap is pushed back 

into the cabinet where it is secured by means of the 

Mini Latch catch. 

This flap hinge is designed for installation in cabinet sizes 

from 820 mm (32 5 /16”) high, 400 mm (15 3 /4”) wide and an 

inside cabinet depth of at least 270 mm (10 5 /8”). 

Important: 

The hinge with the coil springs is designed to support a 

particle board front with the maximum dimensions 590 

mm (23 1 /4”) high, 400 mm (15 3 /4”) wide and 19 mm ( 3 /4”) 

thick and a maximum weight when full of 5 kg (11lbs).

H-Series Hinges for Aluminum Door Frames 


Given the factors: 

• What is the desired opening angle? 

• What is the hinge arm type? 

• If not, what is the side panel thickness? 

• What is the door thickness, size and weight? 

• How will the hinge be mounted to the door– 

(Screw-mount or press-fit)? 

• What is the mounting plate thickness? 

• What is the tab? 

Use the following formula to determine overlay: 

Hinge type minus mounting plate type plus tab* = overlay 

* For aluminum profile doors only, always use 3 mm. 



There is no hard and fast rule which applies. When determining the number 

of hinges needed, the main factors to consider are door size and weight. 

A trial mounting is advisable in case of any doubt, such as with doors 

supporting mirrors, or unusually wide doors. Avoid disproportionate door 

width/height ratios. Use this table for standard, conventional-material 

doors. When in doubt, always allow for an extra hinge.

(page ?) and Advantage 5k hinges (page ?).
