Preamble<br />
This report was written by Fulbright Postgraduate Scholar Emily Morgan. Emily was<br />
awarded the Scholarship by the <strong>Australia</strong>n-American Fulbright Commission <strong>in</strong> 2007 to<br />
study the relationship between food, health <strong>and</strong> the environment under the direction of<br />
Professor Tony Worsley. Specifically, her Fulbright project exam<strong>in</strong>ed fruit <strong>and</strong> <strong>vegetable</strong><br />
<strong>consumption</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>waste</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Australia</strong>.<br />
Emily’s tenure <strong>in</strong> <strong>Australia</strong> was completed <strong>in</strong> Melbourne at the Victorian Health<br />
Promotion Foundation (<strong>VicHealth</strong>) <strong>in</strong> affiliation with the School of Exercise <strong>and</strong> Nutrition<br />
Sciences at Deak<strong>in</strong> University. Her one-year Scholarship commenced <strong>in</strong> February 2008.<br />
Emily’s project <strong>in</strong>cluded a literature review, face-to-face <strong>and</strong> telephone <strong>in</strong>terviews with<br />
key <strong>in</strong>formants <strong>and</strong> an onl<strong>in</strong>e stakeholder survey. This report presents f<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>gs from the<br />
literature review <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>terviews. Additional <strong>in</strong>formation <strong>and</strong> the f<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>gs from the onl<strong>in</strong>e<br />
stakeholder survey will be reported elsewhere.<br />
