A successful management structure<br />
• High level support from university authorities of the hub and other partner<br />
universities<br />
• Agreed upon, transparent, management structure (VLIR-UOS guidelines translated<br />
into partner specific management agreements) => management manual and<br />
procedures<br />
• Support structure – programme support unit – is put in place at the “hub”<br />
university and has a clear set of operating procedures under the leadership of a<br />
local Network Programme coordinator<br />
• Good Communication at all level: using the “common sense”, transparency<br />
• Respect for deadlines and agreements: timely submission of plans, reports,<br />
organisation of mobility and procedures for purchase of goods<br />
• Common focus/group spirit => focus on common development goal & key result<br />
areas<br />
• Include stakeholders early in the process but be realistic in planning of extension<br />
results=> gradual process but important to know what lives in society in order to<br />
work towards results with societal benefits => multi-stakeholder platforms<br />
