purity and detail are flat out incredible with
nuanced, multi-layered flavors wrapped in pinot sap
and culminating in an awe-inspiring finish. Silk, velvet
and mouth coating sap completely buffer the
ripe structure and this RC possesses what all of
the great ones do - absolutely perfect harmony; this
is seamless and there are no edges.

of caramel lead to warm, rich, full-bodied flavors of

The elevated acidity that plagues some bottles was
perfectly integrated and the overall impression is a

ity. Naturally sweet. Great wine. AM93: A fully
mature burgundy with a gorgeously spicy and
fragrant nose trimmed in hints of earth and obvious
sous bois leads to rich, full and almost robust
flavors of good vibrancy and power, all wrapped in
a wonderfully long and velvety finish. This is

AM92: Wonderfully expressive with spicy, complex
aromas followed by intense, medium weight, pure
flavors that display excellent length. This is by no
means exceptionally big or powerful but the ’80
Richebourg is velvety, silky and extremely pure. A
stunning effort for the vintage that is drinking

well-detailed and focused if overtly austere finish.

nose of soaring Asian spices, ripe plum and a
gamut of ripe, pure and lacy red and black fruits
with the latter predominating all wrapped together
with a seductive kiss of sweetly scented, highly
perfumed violets; the nose is, in a word,
intoxicating. All of this aromatic intensity leads to
remarkably powerful, linear, borderline robust
flavors that show simply unbelievable complexity
