Mission Statement<br />

The <strong>California</strong> <strong>Society</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Enrolled</strong> <strong>Agents</strong> is a progressive,<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>essional association dedicated to serv<strong>in</strong>g EAs <strong>in</strong><br />

<strong>California</strong> and abroad, enabl<strong>in</strong>g them to grow, prosper, and<br />

lead as “The” Tax Pr<strong>of</strong>essionals while serv<strong>in</strong>g taxpayers <strong>in</strong><br />

a dynamic, rapidly chang<strong>in</strong>g environment with <strong>in</strong>tegrity<br />

and trust.<br />

To assist Members as they protect and serve taxpayers.<br />

Core Values:<br />

Service with <strong>in</strong>tegrity, accept<strong>in</strong>g challenges as opportunities,<br />

and valu<strong>in</strong>g relationships.<br />

Big, Hairy Audacious Goal:<br />

To dom<strong>in</strong>ate the tax pr<strong>of</strong>ession.<br />

Vivid Description:<br />

“<strong>Enrolled</strong> Agent” is a household word, and the <strong>Enrolled</strong><br />

Agent function is commonly understood. <strong>Enrolled</strong> <strong>Agents</strong><br />

and other tax pr<strong>of</strong>essionals actively seek out membership<br />

and affiliation <strong>in</strong> CSEA. More than 90% <strong>of</strong> all active <strong>Enrolled</strong><br />

<strong>Agents</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>California</strong> are Members. CSEA is the expert <strong>in</strong><br />

communicat<strong>in</strong>g and collaborat<strong>in</strong>g regularly with state and<br />

federal tax agencies.<br />

CSEA membership and leadership are diverse and<br />

Member <strong>Enrolled</strong> <strong>Agents</strong> are competent to serve a pluralistic<br />

society.<br />

All tax pr<strong>of</strong>essionals and preparers are required to pass<br />

the <strong>Enrolled</strong> Agent exam<strong>in</strong>ation.<br />

Public awareness and respect for <strong>Enrolled</strong> <strong>Agents</strong> are<br />

universal. <strong>Enrolled</strong> <strong>Agents</strong> have become <strong>in</strong>terwoven <strong>in</strong>to the<br />

fabric <strong>of</strong> society and are an <strong>in</strong>tegral part <strong>of</strong> tax preparation<br />

and representation. Legislators, regulators, and the media call<br />

CSEA first when need<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>formation about issues relat<strong>in</strong>g<br />

to tax or the impact on taxpayers. CSEA is the clear leader<br />

<strong>in</strong> legislation and public policy relat<strong>in</strong>g to tax and is seen<br />

as the source <strong>of</strong> cutt<strong>in</strong>g-edge <strong>in</strong>formation for the public.<br />

<strong>Enrolled</strong> <strong>Agents</strong> now hold key decision-mak<strong>in</strong>g positions <strong>in</strong><br />

government agencies and private <strong>in</strong>dustry because <strong>of</strong> their<br />

expertise. The bottom l<strong>in</strong>e on tax <strong>in</strong>formation will be to “See<br />

your <strong>Enrolled</strong> Agent.”<br />

and to promote CSEA Members to the general<br />

public.<br />

To be an effective voice <strong>in</strong> advocacy for the rights <strong>of</strong><br />

taxpayers and <strong>Enrolled</strong> <strong>Agents</strong> before all State levels<br />

<strong>of</strong> legislative and regulatory agencies and Federal<br />

agencies as deemed necessary.<br />

To provide educational opportunities and resources to<br />

assist our Members <strong>in</strong> their pr<strong>of</strong>essional growth.<br />

To provide effective communication with Members<br />

and the public.<br />

To identify and meet the current and future needs<br />

<strong>of</strong> Members.<br />

To strengthen CSEA/NAEA/Chapter partnerships.<br />

To manage the <strong>Society</strong> <strong>in</strong> an effective and efficient<br />

manner.<br />
