“2002—A Year of Challenges and Successes”
We dedicate the 2002 Wyoming Police Department Annual
Report to the brave men and women of the United States Military
who are risking their lives throughout the world to ensure our
freedom. We are grateful for their service and we are proud to
join with law enforcement professionals all across America to do
our part for Homeland Security.
Special thanks to Captain Phil Chenier, Sergeant Bob Anderson,
Sergeant Dave Kapteyn, Sergeant Ted Kneibel, and Police
Officer Dan Rosema who retired during 2002. Their dedicated
service of nearly 150 years to the City of Wyoming has in no
small measure contributed to the quality of life we enjoy in our community. All of our
officers, staff, and volunteers at the Wyoming Police Department wish each of them
a happy, healthy, and prosperous retirement. Thank-you for a job well done.
We rededicate ourselves to improving our police services in 2003. Although these
are challenging times, I am extremely confident in the ability of the Wyoming Police
Department to rise to new heights of policing excellence. Our citizens deserve nothing
less—your community leadership will not accept any other result.
In closing, may I extend my heartfelt thanks to our citizens, staff, volunteers, City
council, and City staff for your continuous support. Please pray for our officers to remain
safe as they serve you. God Bless America and this wonderful City we call
home.
