of Paris, Cast Bronze Plaquette, in a mythical
landscape Paris chooses Aphrodite over Athena
and Hera, 130mm (Weber 277). A late cast, small area

530 Germany / Northern Europe, 16 th Century(?) Cast
Oval Gilt-bronze Medal, the Madonna in prayer
below canopy, rev man kneels to receive a crown
or laurel from a figure accompanied by a cherub,
an acanthus border both sides, 35mm x 30mm
(Weber -), perhaps a secondary cast, the gilding rich,
very fine; other medal squeezes and electrotypes
(6), including for the Societé Philomatique, mixed

instituted 1765, by C Voigt, Victory with wreath, by
beehive, rev wreath, 33mm, 20 th century striking,
edge SILBER 990, in box of issue (Gaed III, 2066).

Silver Medal, 1897, 33mm, 16.53g; Wilhelm II (1888-
1918), Silver Medal, 1906, 32mm, 18.14g. Second
with tiny light surface marks, otherwise both attractive

1934), Silver Medallic Pattern 5-Marks, 1927, by
K Goetz, bust right, D behind, rev ornate arm, edge

535 Martin Georg Kovachich (1743-1821), 70 th Birthday,
Bronze Medal, 1813, by H Karl, bust left wearing
fur-trimmed coat, rev legend in wreath, 44.5mm.
Good very fine. £40-60
Kovachich was the curator / librarian at the University of Pest.
He was to donate 300 folios of manuscripts to the National
Museum of Hungary.
