DAVIS around, 39mm (BHM 3404, not listed in this<br />

metal). As struck, very rare. £50-70<br />

W J Davis (1848-1934), numismatist <strong>and</strong> trade unionist, had<br />

managed to obtain a fifteen percent wage increase for union<br />

members in 1872. This was later abolished but he managed to<br />

have it reinstated in 1890.<br />

Booth was appointed by the Admiralty, 1 May 1903, “Dispenser<br />

in His Majesty’s Naval Hospitals at Home <strong>and</strong> Abroad”.<br />
