Activities in
Scandinavia
stepped up
Danish EPLAN team
A good year has passed since our
branch office opened in Frederrikssund,
approximately 40 kilometres
from the Danish capital of Copenhagen.
Since then, there has been much to
report. The software solutions provider
with its nine-man team now has a customer
base of about 200 companies.
The Swedish EPLAN subsidiary, which
was founded towards the middle of last
year at Rittal’s premises in Ängelholm,
has also been very busy.
Over 1,000 licences are already in use
in Sweden, and the number continues
to rise. The Ängelholm office is responsible
for the regions of central
and southern Sweden, and there
are additional offices in the Stockholm
and Göteborg areas.
However, the ambitions of EPLAN Software & Service AB go
further still - two months later, sales offices were opened in
Norway and Finland as part of our plan to expand into
neighbouring countries under the auspices of our Swedish
subsidiary. Initially, a two-man team in Oslo started, now
there are four persons to address the special requirements of
software distribution, maintenance, installation and training.
There are plans to further enlarge this team, and to continue
publicising the software on a nationwide basis. Our subsidiary
in Vantaa, Finland, likewise began with a two-man team
- an engineer and a sales representative - and other
employees will be recruited shortly.
The sales offices in Norway and
Finland are both located in the immediate
vicinity of existing Rittal offices,
where the existing infrastructure means
that mutual synergy effects in the
electrical engineering environment can
be used to our advantage.
The EPLAN software has already been
marketed in both countries for the past
six years via Rittal. EPLAN now owns
the company, but in the past Rittal were
exclusive dealers and cooperation partners
for the German software house.
Not only are we stepping up our presence
in the Scandinavian market; what
is more, our product portfolio has also
been further expanded. In the past, the
product range consisted of three triedand-tested
software solutions for electrical
project management and engineering
- EPLAN 5, EPLAN 21 and EPLAN
compact. This has now been supplemented
by EPLAN Electrical Desktop,
bringing with it additional sales opportunities
based on AutoCAD.
