First Edition 2009
In 2007 Kinney hosted
11 breast cancer
awareness and education
days; in 2008 the
program grew to 39
stores! Hundreds of
local residents came to
our stores throughout
VT and NY to learn
more about breast
cancer awareness in
conjunction with 25
Medical Centers
and 15 county/state
health departments.
The Medical
Centers offered
information on
mammograms,
prevention and the latest technology.

County and State Health Departments presented information on the
various cancer service programs that are free to those who qualify.
Several surveys were sent back from our partners with positive comments
about the professionalism of store personnel and with Kinney’s
support, their community outreach has grown. North Country Mobile
Mammography set up their mobile unit at stores in St. Lawrence County.
One of our own store managers’s talked about how convenient it was to
go through the mobile unit as opposed to going to her doctor’s office.
Representatives from Susan G. Komen for the Cure were also present
at some events. Once again, thank you for your support of these
worthwhile community events.
