Brienz Rothorn Railway – a Five Senses Experience!<br />

The Brienz Rothorn Railway is the oldest steam cogwheel railway in Switzerland never to have been electrified<br />

and can still guarantee daily steam trips in the summer months.<br />

Discover your five senses! Feel the chugging of the steam locomotive, see and smell the rising steam and<br />

hear how the powerful locomotive pushes the carriages over the 7,6 km distance to the summit. During<br />

the trip, you will see many wonderful and varied views – so keep your camera ready! In the Hotel Rothorn<br />

Kulm you will find not only culinary delicacies but great hospitality too.<br />

Period of operation 2010: to middle station Planalp, 13.05. to 04.06. / to Rothorn Kulm, 05.06. to 24.10.<br />

From the mountain station of the cable car, hiking trails lead in all directions. Männlichen has something to suit all tastes.<br />

Panorama path: unique ridge path from Männlichen to Kleine Scheidegg.<br />

Romantic path: relaxing path through pine forests and flower filled meadows.<br />

Apple fritter path: lots of variety in fabulous scenery.<br />

Chamois path: spectacular mountain path on the trail of the chamois.<br />

UNESCO path: fantastic views from the Männlichen peak.<br />

Felix path: the summer themed trail for families and children between Männlichen and Holenstein.<br />
